Take it back to the studs

Just a little spring hail storm

You can learn a lot about a thing when you strip it apart. What we recently learned about our house, as a corner of it was pared back to 2 x 4s and wallboard, is that it leaks.

We get some wild weather in Central Oregon. Before we moved here, we visited twice in the spring. We looked at the temps and thought, "yeah, we can ride mountain bikes in the 40s." But we didn't realize there would be wind and sideways blowing rain/snow — a wintery mix — and while we had some fun times, the bikes never left the truck. With our kitchen denuded of walls, a strong storm blew in... wind strong enough to blow over all the plant cages, rattling the flaps covering bathroom and kitchen vents, and blowing a wintery mix through the poorly installed windows and doors.
